@IanMBrowne At the MLB level, it's a different thing. Where is the line? Birth of a kid? Birthday of a kid? 8th grade graduation? College graduation? School play? In pro sports, for million dollar contracts, you are giving up personal life. It's a trade. Imagine an NFL QB missing a start.
