With Hershey advancing thanks to today's win, it's worth noting that Todd Nelson - the coach who has won the last two AHL titles - has a very real shot at his third straight. It remains utterly baffling that he's never had a real shot at an NHL head coaching gig.

And here I was so close to actually agreeing with NHL Player Safety. So close. I really ought to have known better.

Vegas’ Nicolas Roy has been fined $7,812.50, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Edmonton’s Trent Frederic.

It feels strange to agree with NHL player safety, but: 1. Roy deserves a hearing and brief suspension, though he was appropriately penalized in-game. 2. Arvidsson was not appropriately penalized in-game, but doesn't deserve a hearing or suspension.
