On political endorsement https://t.co/e5OTZhylIE This is cowardice, with democracy as its casualty. @realdonaldtrump will see this as an invitation to further intimidate owner @jeffbezos (and others). Disturbing spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.

Of course endorsements don't carry the weight they once did. But if editorial pages of publications matter at all in the world of global affairs, economics, equality and the First Amendment how can any standing be claimed if on this subject a global publications passes.
