At the ER last night - my reply - a normal person would say 10. This *is* my normal so it's like a 8. Nurse : 👀

A chronically ill person can’t use a regular pain scale. An abled person’s baseline would be a 0. Our baseline could be their version of 7 while it’s normal for us. Our tolerance is higher. This is why doctors give us looks when we say “10” and aren’t in a ball crying.
