A Mackay region boy has suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car at Andergrove in North Mackay. The incident happened on Superior Boulevard around 5pm yesterday. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated a primary school aged boy with potentially life-threatening chest and arm injuries. A South Mackay house fire has left a family with nothing. Firefighters were called to Napier Street just after 2pm yesterday and found the property engulfed in flames. A car has burst into flames and one person is dead after it collided with a ute on the Bruce Highway near Proserpine. The crash happened just after 5pm yesterday on the highway near Myrtlevale….the driver of the car died at the scene. The driver of the ute, a man in his 60s, was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition.
