Het aantal zzp'ers dat stopt als zelfstandig ondernemer, is in de eerste helft van 2024 met dertig procent toegenomen ten opzichte van 2023. Het gaat om ruim 77.000 zelfstandigen die zich uitschreven uit het handelsregister. In de eerste helft van 2023 waren dat er zo'n 60.000.

Ruim eenderde van de zzp'ers in Nederland maakt zich zorgen over de aanstaande handhaving van de Wet Deregulering Beoordeling Arbeidsrelaties (DBA) door de Belastingdienst. Een kwart van de 50-plussers overweegt zelfs te stoppen met ondernemen.
