Obituary: James “Doc” Foley

James “Doc” Foley passed away peacefully at the age of 76, on September 5, 2023, surrounded by the warm embrace of his family. Doc is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his daughter Colleen, and her children Matthew, Hannah, and their father, Matt Palmer; his son Jim, his wife, Rose, and their children, Annabelle and Samuel; his siblings Lynda Klein of Utica, Bill Foley of Slingerlands, NY, and Timothy Foley of Old Forge; along with in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

According to a report issued by Webb Police Chief R.W. Johnston, Robert A. Queen III, ae 49, of Eagle Bay, was arrested on September 16 at 7:01 p.m. and charged with Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving While Intoxicated w/BAC more than 0.08.

FCLA supports Webb’s dye testing program

Photo submittedThe Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) was established in 1968 to improve the water quality on the Fulton Chain of Lakes. One of its earliest initiatives was to support dye testing of houses around the lakes. The dye testing procedure consists of flushing a small amount of dye down a toilet and then returning a day or two later to check the area and the lake to make sure none of the dye is visible. FCLA is still supporting that effort, more than 50 years later.

Inlet Golf Club hosts Club Championship Tournament

Inlet Golf Club held the 2023 Club Championship on August 26, with a great deal of excitement and friendly competition resulting in Nick Cappelletti capturing his first men’s gross championship. The net title was taken by Dale Wolfe. The rain held off which allowed a new champion to be crowned in the women’s division.Jennifer Blakeman won the gross championship.The women’s net title was taken by Penny Stuart. In the senior division, Bob Philipson walked away with the senior gross champion title.

I found it hard to find, but now have it. The teams that make up the Division are as follows: Waterville, Remsen, Poland, Hamilton and Webb UFSD. West Canada was supposed to be in the league, but failed to get the numbers needed to play.
