If you immediately think of the Pacific Highway when you hear someone’s doing a Sydney to Brisbane road trip you’re not alone. But while that coastal route has a whole lot of memories for a lot of people, for me it’s all about going the other way. The New England Highway is the quieter, inland route that takes you up over the Great Dividing Range, and through some spectacular scenery and great country towns and villages along the way.

I first shared this tip on my blog eight long years ago. But after laughing about it with someone yesterday, and realising there are still people out there who don’t know this super simple trick, I’m sharing it again. If you’ve ever hired or borrowed a car, realised you needed to get petrol and then started looking into the side mirrors trying to get a hint of which side of the car the fuel door is on before pulling into the petrol station then you’re missing a trick.

When Taylor Swift announced she’d be finishing her epic Eras Tour in Toronto, a lot of fans quickly added Ontario to their 2024 travel wish list. Swift will play six shows at the Rogers Centre in November next year, and for those planning to come into town for the show there’s some pretty great news on how close you can stay to the show. Because in Toronto the closest hotel to Rogers Centre has rooms that are right inside the stadium.
