All India Radio (AIR), referred to as Akashvani, meaning "Voice from the Sky" since 1957, serves as India's national public radio broadcaster. It operates under the umbrella of Prasar Bharati and was founded in 1936. AIR works alongside Doordarshan, which is the television service of Prasar Bharati. Located in New Delhi at the Akashvani Bhavan, AIR includes various departments such as the Drama Section, FM Section, and National Service, and also shares its premises with the Doordarshan Kendra, the Indian television station in Delhi.
