It was a special day at Dodgers spring training camp on Monday as prized offseason signing Shohei Ohtani took to the backfields at Camelback Ranch for batting practice. It was his first time hitting on a field since undergoing season-ending elbow surgery last September. Unsurprisingly, the event drew quite a crowd of fans, reporters, and members of the Dodger organization.

Another beautiful day in Glendale, Arizona inched us closer to opening day in March. The Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani were the story in baseball today as the two-time All-Star took to the backfields at Camelback Ranch for his first non-cage batting practice session of the spring. Ohtani cranked 10 home runs while taking just 21 swings off BP pitcher J.T. Watkins. Some of those hacks can be watched below.

Friday marked the official start of spring training 2024. Dodgers pitchers, catchers, and a group of position players got to work at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, but much of the focus was on newcomers and superstars Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani met with the media around mid-morning, taking questions in English and in Japanese from a sizeable group of reporters.

The Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers All-Star closer Devin Williams are every bit of a match made in blue heaven, at least on paper. The LA ballclub has expertly navigated a busy offseason of rebuilding the starting rotation while balancing out the left-heavy offense. They also added some serious thunder to the lineup with the addition of superstar DH Shohei Ohtani. On Monday they finally addressed the bullpen a bit by adding Ryan Brasier back to the mix. But, is he enough?

Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers are reportedly in agreement on a contract for the 2024 season, pending physical. The news came down early Tuesday morning that the two sides were getting close to a deal before being confirmed by Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman of the New York Post. It was a busy Monday morning for the Dodgers who completed a trade with the Yankees and bolstered their bullpen with a free agent signing. First, the club announced that it was sending LHP Caleb Ferguson to the New York Yankees in a three player swap that netted LA lefty reliever Matt Gage and righty pitching prospect Christian Zazueta. Shortly after the trade, reports surfaced saying free agent RHP Ryan Brasier would be returning to the Dodgers on a two-year deal.
