Alpine Mag International
Alpine Mag was established in 2017 in the beautiful French Alps. It was created by Ulysse Lefebvre, who now shares management responsibilities with Jocelyn Chavy. The magazine operates out of a base located between Grenoble and Chamonix.

It was midday on Monday, April 7, when an avalanche swept down the Annapurna face, killing two Nepalese Sherpas. Rima Rinje and Ngima Tashi were above Camp 2, at around 5600 meters. They were in charge of supplying the camps with oxygen cylinders, when a huge avalanche hit. Miraculously, a third Sherpa, Pemba Thenduk, also caught in the avalanche, managed to escape. All three men worked for the Seven Summit Treks agency.

French climber Vadim Druelle fell into a crevasse on his way down from Annapurna Camp 3, March 30th. The Himalayan speed climber was rescued by Sirbaz Khan, a Pakistani member of his team, when he was trapped at a depth of twenty meters. Injured and suffering from frostbite, Vadim Druelle was evacuated from the base camp and hospitalized in Kathmandu.

The world’s biggest ski-mountaineering race, the Pierra Menta, ended with a double French victory for Axelle Gachet-Mollaret with Lorna Bonnel, and for locals William Bon Mardion and Xavier Gachet. Four days, ten thousand metres of vert, and on the special last day, a huge crowd of spectators to support the racers. Seb Berthe successfully climbs the Dawn Wall and dedicates his ascent to the “anti-fascist struggle”

On January 31, Seb Berthe became the 4th climber to send the 32 pitches of the Dawn Wall on El Capitan, the most difficult multi-pitch route on the planet. The Belgian climber had already attempted it in 2022 after coming to the USA by sailboat. True to his convictions, Seb did the same this winter, coming all the way to America by boat to climb this 900-meter-high Yosemite masterpiece.
