Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the new skywalk at Kolkata’s world-famous Kalighat temple on 14 April. This 435-meter-long skywalk has a width of 10.5 meters. The entry points of the Kalighat Skywalk have been erected on S P Mukherjee Road and Hazra Road. It has been extended up to Kali Temple Road. This skywalk will facilitate the smooth entry of worshippers to the Kalighat temple.

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has launched the Didir Doot 2.0 app for voter verification across 80,453 booths. The Didir Doot app, originally launched in 2021, will see its upgraded version released after Poila Baisakh (15 April) and will continue to function until the Election Commission completes the final voter list revision, expected around December or January.

Kolkata: The West Bengal State Transport Department is planning to launch an app-based auto rickshaw booking service. A trial run is going to start soon in New Town, Kolkata. If the experiment proves successful, then these app-based auto rickshaw services will soon start across Kolkata and the suburbs within the next few months. According to the Transport Department, this will purely be an add-on service. There will be no changes in the current schedule of auto-rickshaws running on scheduled routes.
