Things to KnowThere are three ways to make image backgrounds transparent on Mac: Using Remove background in Tools, Instant Alpha, and Selection tools. Before following any of the methods given below, make a duplicate copy of the picture. To do that, select the picture in Finder and press Command + D. Open your image in the Preview app. Once the image opens, click on Tools > Remove background. If the option is greyed out, wait a few seconds and try again. A confirmation pop-up will show up.
