Association for Jewish Studies
The Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) was established in 1969 by a group of scholars who wanted a space to discuss teaching methods and research in the emerging field of Jewish Studies. Over the years, the AJS has expanded to become the largest academic and professional organization for Jewish Studies scholars around the globe. As a member of the American Council of Learned Societies, the AJS plays a crucial role in representing Jewish Studies within the broader context of humanities and social sciences studies in North America.
