The Azerbaijan State News Agency, known as AZERTAC, serves as the primary news and information outlet for the Republic of Azerbaijan and is the exclusive provider of official government news. Established by the Government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on March 1, 1920, AZERTAC went through several name changes during the Soviet era. After Azerbaijan regained its independence, the agency restored its original name. From March 3, 1995, until January 17, 2000, it was called the "State Telegraph Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers," before being renamed to "Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency." AZERTAC provides 24/7 news in Azerbaijani, English, Russian, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish, delivering comprehensive coverage of various aspects of life in Azerbaijan, including politics, economy, culture, sports, health, and the environment.
