B'Tselem
B’Tselem – The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories aims for a world where human rights, freedom, and equality are ensured for everyone, both Palestinians and Jews, living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. This vision can only be achieved if the Israeli occupation and apartheid system come to an end. B’Tselem, which means "in the image of" in Hebrew, was named by the late Knesset member Yossi Sarid as a reference to Genesis 1:27: “And God created humankind in His image. In the image of God did He create them.” This name embodies the universal and Jewish moral obligation to honor and protect the human rights of all individuals.
