A 79-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon in a house fire on Green Valley Drive, according to local officials. Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Bandera Fire and Rescue and Castle Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze on the 200th block of Green Valley Drive at 2:08 p.m. April 15. Fire Marshal Jason Rutherford said the fire started on the stove, where something appeared to have been left unattended.

A Bandera County Commissioner drove the truck involved in a fatal collision last Thursday that claimed the life of a Utopia man, investigators said. “Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500, occupied by Troy Konvicka, was traveling southbound on SH-16 when a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pulled onto the roadway from a private drive and collided with the Dodge,” Texas DPS Sergeant Deon Cockrell said.
