BBTV Channel 7

BBTV Channel 7

Royal Thai Army Television Channel 7, commonly referred to as "Channel 7," started its first broadcast on November 27, 1967. The launch took place during the Miss Thailand Pageant, part of the Vajuravudhanusorn festival at Saran Rom Palace, and it followed the CCIR's 625 lines standard with PAL system. By 1973, Channel 7 began setting up relay stations in various provinces, and in 1978, these provincial stations commenced operations. They received broadcast signals via satellite from Bangkok and transmitted them to rural network stations, marking a groundbreaking service in Thailand. Today, Channel 7 operates 37 network stations that reach audiences across the country and in border areas of neighboring nations. Additionally, Channel 7 employs international satellite technology, known as INTELSAT, to report global events for broadcast in Thailand. The channel has also introduced innovations in the Thai television industry by using high-frequency Ku-band mobile satellite vehicles and C-band Outside Broadcasting Vans (OB Vans). These technologies enable Channel 7 to cover traditional festivals, sports events, and other significant occasions across the country, ensuring it serves as a comprehensive media organization that delivers valuable information, education, and entertainment to its audience quickly and effectively.
