Blurt Magazine
Blurt is a music magazine that offers both print and online content, and it started out in Silver Spring, MD. Previously, it was known as Harp Magazine for over a decade, earning a reputation as one of the top music magazines in the early 2000s. After Harp ceased publication in March 2008 due to bankruptcy issues with its parent company, which also owned JazzTimes, Scott Crawford, who was the owner of Harp, launched Blurt. Several key writers and editors from Harp joined Crawford to create Blurt, including Fred Mills, who serves as the managing editor and is also a contributing writer for various music publications and alternative weeklies in Asheville, NC. Additionally, senior editor Randy Harward, who has experience editing a weekly paper in Salt Lake City, and senior editor Andy Tennille, a journalist and photographer known for his work with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, are also part of the team.
