Revisiting a project I started a while back with my friend Michael Carl at Hermès. We set out to curate a list of 100 fashion and style-focused films. We only made it to 74, but I’m always on the lookout for more to add. It’s that time of year where, after a long day outside in the sun, I like to wrap myself in my Hermès blanket and turn on a movie. These are the films that have stayed with me time and time again. Some are classics, others just brilliant.

This is my second season working with Lisa, who is a trainer at Equinox in the Hamptons. I booked one session with her at the beginning of last summer and immediately got hooked. While the gym is mostly filled with very muscular men, Lisa was the sole female there, not much taller than me, but really strong, positive, and actually quite tough. Not too tough, but tough enough that I’d feel sore the next day.

When I was growing up, my dad Joe Brown was always my hero — he was literally the coolest dad around. He had his own law firm in Chicago and my friends called him “Gorge” because he was really handsome (the girls had big crushes on him). Despite having a 9-to-5 job, my dad always loved creating art. He took time to sculpt, draw and loved black and white photography. He would spend nights and weekends working in the darkroom, developing his pictures.

I’m always thinking of ways to thank my paid subscribers for being here. Joining Substack was a bit spontaneous, and I came in with no real direction. Even a year later, I’m still figuring it out as I go. But one thing I do know is how grateful I am for your support. I still remember my first week on Substack—I posted a launch note with no clue what I was doing. All it said was, “Hey, it’s Bobbi!” And now, here we are.
