With the first day of official qualifying for candidates, Brown completed all the necessary work to make sure her name is on the ballot for the Aug. 26 municipal election. Brown, who has held her seat for nine years, won the position in 2016 against then-incumbent Pat Poole. She took the position with a nearly 3-to-1 margin.
