British Beauty Blogger

British Beauty Blogger

I am a beauty writer with experience in both online platforms and traditional media. Over the years, I have authored four beauty books, but I'm not looking to write another one anytime soon! I live in South East London with my two children and a small poodle. My journey in beauty writing began with various newspapers. My first significant role was as the Shopping Editor for a parenting magazine, stepping in when the previous editor left. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that my interest in beauty was far greater than my excitement for limited edition Duplo sets, and I soon moved on from that position.

[unpaid/purchase/affiliate] I’ve been thoroughly influenced by a fellow Substacker because up til now I have avoided PDRN (or you might like to call it PolyDeoxyRiboNucleotide – maybe not) because the idea of putting salmon sperm on my face just sent me running away rather than running to. However, I’m always prepared to have my mind opened and after a fulsome review of Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum, I did a little research and ended up buying some.

You know what I haven’t used for a really long time? A physical exfoliator. I’m also looking for a good face mask because it feels like I haven’t ‘masked’ for ages and when I go through the extensive range of products I have here, there is only one that I feel even vaguely tempted by.

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] My toes are newly painted (by me) in Essie Color Binge –  tomato orange/red shade – because my feet are finally out. I’ve discovered that it’s from the 2015 Fall Collection and not only is it in perfect condition after ten years, but it gives a vibrant, holiday shade that is as relevant now as it was a decade ago. However, back to Jel Oh Jel.

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I almost never use a primer – it’s never been in my repertoire and I’m not about to start now but when Maybelline Grippy Serum arrived through the post, I wanted to try it if only to reassure myself that I’m skipping an unnecessary step in my (such as it is) routine. Actually, I have done quite a big beauty shop with products expected this week so hopefully I’ll be able to show you them sooner rather than later.

[unpaid/affiliate] I was very tempted yesterday to buy this when I saw it in Oliver Bonas but annoyingly they didn’t have my size. In real life it’s a sparkling (not glittery) fine knit jacket that is perfect for cooler summer evenings when you still need to bring the vibe but don’t want to suffer for it :-). The pictures don’t do the jacket any justice at all because its an effervescent and glinting kind of orange that isn’t Tango or Easyjet but is maybe a slightly burnt orange.
