Brownwood Bulletin
In 1886, attorney William Harding Mayes acquired the Brownwood Bulletin, followed by the Brownwood Banner in 1887. He merged both publications to create the Brownwood Banner-Bulletin. Together with his brother, H.F. Mayes, he launched the daily edition known as the Brownwood Daily Bulletin on October 15, 1900. Mayes continued to publish the newspaper until 1914.
