Cadiz Record
The Cadiz Record is a weekly publication that comes out every Wednesday in Cadiz, Kentucky, located in Trigg County. It has a subscriber base of under 5,000 people. The newspaper originally launched on December 31, 1880, under the name Kentucky Telephone. By 1899, it had a circulation of 1,375 copies. In 1898, Henry R. Lawrence and George H. Pike acquired the newspaper. That same year, the building suffered a fire, prompting the purchase of new printing equipment. Following this, the name was changed to the Cadiz Record. Under Lawrence's leadership, the paper embraced a democratic stance and served as a voice for justice during events like the Black Patch Tobacco Wars.
