    The Canadian government settled a class-action lawsuit with members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who faced racism during their time in the military. The settlement covers current and former members of the CAF who experienced racial discrimination and racial harassment in connection with their military service at any time from April 17, 1985, to January 10, 2025. It is worth up to $150 million, with individual payouts ranging from $5,000 to $35,000.

    The Canadian Army rolled into the new year with a number of Canadian Army Reserve Unit Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major appointments for the 2025 active posting season. The announcement of the first batch of Canadian Army appointments was made by the Commander of the Canadian Army, Lieutenant-General (LGen.) Michael Wright, who congratulated appointees in CANFORGEN 194/24. The new appointed Unit Command Team (TM) members were also given detailed instructions on matters of dress.
