City police Traffic Infraction Warning letter-writing campaign underway

If your vehicle has been reported for unsafe driving behaviours you may end up receiving a warning letter from city police. The North Bay Police Service has launched a new initiative to address what it says is a growing number of traffic-related complaints from the public. As part of this effort, the Traffic Enforcement Unit is now issuing Traffic Infraction Warning Letters to registered vehicle owners.
North Bay Aviation Expo takes flight Saturday

Here’s a chance to take an up-close look at real airport equipment, some airplanes, and more. The North Bay Aviation Expo runs from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday at Jack Garland Airport and the surrounding industrial park. CAA lists Premier Road as one of the worst in the north

The Worst Roads list for Ontario is out from CAA. All of the top 10 are in Southern Ontario. Premier Road in North Bay is third on the northern list with three streets in Sudbury and one in Sault Ste. Marie compiling the regional top five. The city previously announced sidewalk construction, including road resurfacing work, involving more than half of the West Ferris roadway was getting underway this spring.
North Bay shows its support for military personnel

Vandalism in Bonfield being investigated

The North Bay OPP says its investigating repeated incidents of vandalism at Kaibuskong Park in the Township of Bonfield. Ontario Provincial police say a report of mischief, including multiple items being thrown into the water, was reported to them on May 27. Three charged after police seize loaded handgun and suspected drugs

City police report a loaded 9 mm handgun, ammunition and nearly $3,000 in suspected drugs were seized after officers responded to a drug-induced medical emergency two weeks ago. Two men and a woman, all from North Bay, are facing several charges including drug possession and trafficking, firearms possession and more. Police say they responded to the emergency in a local hotel room around 11:30 am on May 21, and spotted the handgun when they arrived.
