Directed by his wife Daryl Hannah, their fourth project together, Neil Young: Coastal was recorded during his 2023 solo tour, his first in four years, taken from a few California dates. The concerts featured a lot of deep cuts and the film’s setlist does as well, which my limit the appeal but will surely please die-hard fans. The book collects comic book stories from 1951 starring Donald; his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie; and Grandma Duck. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, based on his 2009 manga of the same name, The Wind Rises tells a fictionalized story of Japanese aircraft engineer Jiro Horikoshi and his creation of the Zero, a Japanese fighter plane used during World War II. Outside of Jiro’s dreams, this story doesn’t feature the fantastical elements that typically appear in Miyazaki’s films, but that doesn’t make the plot or animation any less compelling.
