The Women’s Council of Realtors Contra Costa took over Macy’s in Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza in November for its annual Fashion Gala charity fundraiser. Walnut Creek’s Amit Elor delighted East Bay sports fans when she won a gold medal in wrestling at the Paris Olympics last summer, the youngest athlete on Team USA to do so in her field. In December, she was the star of the show during a meet and greet at Pinky’s Pizza and Pub in Walnut Creek, signing posters and chatting with fans. Elor is also an eight-time world champion who attended Diablo Valley College and trained with a strength coach from Walnut Creek’s Forma Gym.
