Elon University and the American Association of Colleges and Universities on Tuesday announced the publication of their second Student Guide to Artificial Intelligence, a series of guides intended to help students integrate AI into their studies. Bowling Green State University in Ohio on Friday claimed it has become the first higher education institution in the nation to offer an undergraduate degree in artificial intelligence that is tailored to specific fields of study. The University of Notre Dame has launched Wi-Fi 6E service at its 80,000 seat stadium. The Wi-Fi 6E standard uses 6 GHz wireless spectrum and offers faster speeds and lower latency. Using the service requires a compatible device, though the university expects 90% of its students will have access to such a device by the start of the next academic year, according to EdTech Innovation Hub. Newer laptops and smartphones support the standard.

A new study from Oregon State University shows that artificial intelligence can boost creativity in student writing if instructors provide guidance on proper use. The university’s College of Liberal Arts announced the findings last week. After studying two online creative writing courses, researchers found that students who completed their work with the assistance of ChatGPT and instructor guidance performed better than students who didn’t use AI or used it without instructor direction.

Two former students of the private High Point University in North Carolina are suing the school, a former coach and a vendor after a data breach. The two students joined a class action lawsuit against the school and Matt Weiss, the former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator and University of Michigan football coach who was indicted in March. He was accused of accessing private data to find “intimate photos and videos” of student athletes. The University of Michigan fired Weiss in 2023.
