El Espectador

El Espectador

El Espectador, translating to "The Spectator," is a prominent newspaper that serves readers across Colombia. It was established by Fidel Cano Gutiérrez on March 22, 1887, in Medellín and has been printed in Bogotá since 1915. After facing a financial crisis, it shifted from a daily publication to a weekly format in 2001. However, on May 11, 2008, it made a much-anticipated return to daily publication in a tabloid size (28 x 39.5 cm). From 1997 to 2011, the newspaper's primary shareholder was Julio Mario Santo Domingo.
