Emmis Communications

Emmis Communications is a media company located in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Founded in 1980 by Jeff Smulyan, the name Emmis comes from the Hebrew word for "truth," Emet. Over the years, Emmis has owned several well-known radio stations, such as KPWR and WQHT, famous for their Hip Hop Rhythmic format, as well as WFAN, recognized as the world's first round-the-clock sports talk radio station. Besides its radio ventures, Emmis has also expanded into television, publishing, and mobile services across the United States.
