CNC meets to discuss new soccer stadium proposal in EverettThe Charlestown Neighborhood Council held a special neighborhood meeting Sept. 26 to form a soccer stadium committee, and the results were productive. With CNC Chair Tom Cunha presiding, the Council met with a group of residents and determined that a main committee and four sub-committees will be established once the change in language is made by legislators that would allow for the site in Everett to be used for a new soccer stadium.

Everett Police Chief Paul Strong appeared at the City Council meeting Monday night to talk about his first two months in office. Strong became chief on July 1, 2024, succeeding Steve Mazzie. City Councilor Peter Pietrantonio had requested the update on “how the first couple of months have gone, and if Strong has implemented any new policies under his direction.”City Council President Robert Van Campen officially welcomed Strong to the meeting in the Council Chambers.
