Eyethu News

Eyethu KwaZulu-Natal is the leading black-owned newspaper brand in the province, having begun with the launch of Edendale Eyethu five years ago in 2008. Currently, the brand publishes a total of 301,400 copies across 11 titles each week. Our reach extends to all key areas of the province, establishing Eyethu as a trusted source for local communities throughout KZN. The official launch of Eyethu KZN took place on September 27, 2011, in uMlazi, south of Durban, with a supportive message from then KZN Premier Dr. Zweli Mkhize. The brand emerged from the understanding that, while community newspapers were thriving, isiZulu-speaking audiences had been overlooked, despite being the largest demographic in the province. This gap has been filled, as Eyethu has gained significant popularity among readers, making it a highly desired publication. Our strength lies in our commitment to reporting news that resonates with the community, celebrating local heroes, and addressing the everyday challenges faced by our neighborhoods.
