We are delighted to announce that the important amendment to our Standing Orders to propose a new route to membership, voted on in a recent Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK EGM, has been passed significantly. This change has already been agreed with BASEM and ratified in our membership votes last year, being implemented as the new college is formed together.

As the governing body for Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) in the UK, the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FSEM) aims to provide a strong, unified voice for the specialty that brings SEM to the forefront of the nation’s healthcare agenda. We have made substantial progress with SEM now recognised within key government policies around both musculoskeletal health and exercise medicine.

At the end of her first year in office, FSEM UK President Dr Natasha Jones reflects on progress made towards achieving our strategic objectives. Just over a year ago, we unveiled our Strategy 22-25 and set forth a series of ambitious goals designed to unite our specialty, grow our organisation, and support our members. Earlier this month, at the end of my first full year as President, I sat down with Faculty leadership to evaluate our progress towards those goals.
