Fangirlish talked to Turner about stepping into the role of Kiana Cook, her rather surprising backstory, her new centric episode “Name Image Likeness,” and fitting right in so quickly.

Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 19 ‘Permanent Damage‘ does pretty well at managing an hour without Miranda Rae Mayo and with Severide focused on a fire investigation, but it gives us very little in the way of clues as to how the show will end up writing out Carver and Ritter. In fact, the show seems to actually make both characters even more integral to the narrative in this hour, a pretty frustrating thing considering we’re losing both of them at the end of the season.

When she was first announced as a replacement, though not really for Hailey Upton, fans were understandably wary. Those were big shoes to fill. But Cook has been a great character, one who has made her impact in Intelligence, and that has come with a backstory that has made her stand out.

And though we probably won’t be happy either way, there are bad options and there are worse options.

And though this hour only feels like it scratches the surface of all of those things, it still does a really good job at tugging at our heartstrings while doing so.

But having flaws makes characters better. And I love that Watson presented a case where John thought he knew what was happening and was proven wrong.

Also, our lives are going to be changed by the death of Joel and saying goodbye to Pedro Pascal.

NCIS: Origins Season 1, Episode 17 ‘Darlin’, Don’t Refrain’ revisits the Sandman case from the first two episodes of the season, as it focuses on perhaps the one character on the show we have yet to focus on: Cliff Wheeler. Ironically, Wheeler might be the character we didn’t know we needed to focus on, or we didn’t realize we’d missed focusing on. But, as the Sandman case is so much about snipers, it feels like this hour is also going to be a lot about Gibbs. It kinda has to be.
