Forever Wars

Forever Wars

The outcome of your journey lies in your hands. Forever Wars aims to document, analyze, and question the ongoing changes and constants of the War on Terror. Every week, Forever Wars releases a mix of original articles, critiques, essays, and historical insights—often combining all four elements. The platform will expand to cover the evolving landscape of the War on Terror while also narrowing down to examine specific events that influence its changes and continuities. Additionally, it will take a broader view to assess how the War on Terror affects the decline of American democracy. At times, Forever Wars may resemble a blog post; other times, it may read like a magazine feature. Many entries will serve as a companion to my book, *Reign of Terror*. (Please consider purchasing it; this is not the moment for pride.)

Edited by The Nation Remember how I wrote in the last Director's Cut* that I felt like my last Nation column should have made more of the Qods Force-ordered stand-down of the Hashd militias in Iraq and Syria? Edited by Sam ThielmanI'M A MEMBER OF THE JEWISH LABOR BUND, a revived Jewish socialist group rekindling an antizionist tradition. Members of the Montana chapter brought to my attention the following statements concerning Gaza that I thought would interest FOREVER WARS readers. They're meant to be read together.

Edited by Sam ThielmanA FUNNY THING happened as the House of Representatives moved in swift, bipartisan fashion to ban TikTok on the grounds that it puts American users' privacy at risk from a malicious state actor. Rep.

The brightest moment in the president’s foreign policy feels like light from a dead star. The Biden of that moment would stop aiding Israeli war crimes. Edited by The NationOne quick note I want to give on this one. This was written fairly early in February, which is why the examples and the numbers stop there. I'm adjusting to writing something that needs to be nonperishable a month out. I'll be the first to admit that's a process.

Edited by Sam ThielmanA LONGTIME SOURCE AND FRIEND returned from Baghdad recently. I asked him to read me out on what he saw and heard there. Almost all he wanted to talk about was a speech he watched Qais Khazali give last week at the Rafidain Center for Dialogue. If you instantly remember who Qais Khazali is, don't forget to schedule your colonoscopy or mammogram. For everyone else, Khazali was one of the most infamous of the 2003-2011 U.S. occupation's Iranian-sponsored enemies.
