The 26-year-old from Canada has earned the first Michael Jordan Trophy (the official name of the NBA MVP trophy) for the first time in his career. Gilgeous-Alexander has now gotten over the hump and won his first MVP after finishing second in MVP voting for the 2023-2024. Being the number ten seed meant the Miami Heat had to win two games in a row on the road to get into the Playoffs. The Heat did just that with a win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, April 16. They beat the Bulls in Chicago 109-90. The Heat then traveled to Atlanta and beat the Hawks in Overtime, 123-114.
