Frictional Games

Frictional Games is a small, independent game studio recognized for its focus on horror themes and immersive storytelling. Our notable works include the Penumbra Series, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and SOMA, along with the publication of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. Founded in 2007 as a virtual company, we began with team members spread throughout Europe, primarily based in Helsingborg. Over the years, we’ve grown and established an office in Malmö, which is home to about half of our 25 staff members, including interns. The remaining team members continue to work remotely, alongside contractors who assist with various production tasks like audio, writing, and graphics.
