The Alpine city of Annecy is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in France. Located in the Haute-Savoie region of south-east France, on the borders of Italy and Switzerland, this good-looking town sits at the tip of an aquamarine lake of the same name, Lake Annecy, surrounded by the snowcapped French Alps. It’s one of my favourite places in France and I visit regularly, spending time wandering in the old town of Annecy and swimming or paddling on the lake.

What’s the best way to see London? Some might say that the best city views are from viewing platforms such as the London Eye or at the free-to-enter Sky Garden. I would argue, however, that the best way to see the city is from the water. There are various boat cruises that sail up and down the Thames river, ferrying passengers along the city’s central waterway past London’s famous landmarks but none of them are quite like Thames Rockets.
