GoldenPlec has been operating since 2002, focusing on music in Ireland and providing a platform for both Irish and international artists. All team members contribute their time voluntarily, choosing projects they are passionate about, and do not receive a salary for their efforts. In the summer of 2013, GoldenPlec received funding from the Arthur Guinness Projects to support music in Ireland. Currently, the platform is managed by a dedicated team of 13 deputy editors, 52 writers, and 25 photographers.

Road to the Great Escape, a 12-artist mini festival in Dublin that also appears in Glasgow, is essentially a mini preview. It’s fair to say the whole thing is really quite low key, especially given being picked for such a show is a fair indicator of potential.
