2025 PGA Show sets record for largest show in 15 years

The 2025 PGA Show took place in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 21-25 at the Orange County Convention Center. The show came on the heels of an arctic cold blast that brought snow to the panhandle of Florida. Even with the cold rain, there was record attendance and exhibitors, making it the largest PGA Show in 15 years. Organized by the PGA of America and PGA Golf Exhibitions, the show welcomed more than 33,000 golf industry professionals from 94 countries and 50 U.S. states to meet with more than 1,100 brands.

Concert Golf Partners acquired Penn Oaks Golf Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It becomes the 37th private club in Concert’s growing portfolio and the fourth in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area, joining White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa., Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. and TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton, N.J.The historic club is located on 130 acres of land that were originally granted to Pennsylvania founder William Penn by King Charles II.
KemperSports chosen to manage the Club at Porto Cima in Missouri

KemperSports will now manage the Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Missouri, along the western shore of the Lake of the Ozarks. The new partnership with the club’s owners, Four Seasons Hospitality Group, was announced on Jan. 9. The club has a history of ranking as one of the top private clubs in Missouri. KemperSports now manages two private clubs in Missouri; the other is the Country Club of St. Albans.
PGA of America chooses Derek Sprague as new CEO

The PGA of America announced that it has chosen Derek Sprague to be the next CEO of the association. Sprague is the first person to serve as both a past president and CEO. He served as president from 2014-2016 and he will succeed Seth Waugh, who stepped down from the role in June 2024. Sprague has been a PGA member since 1993 and has been the general manager of TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, since January 2018.
Heritage Golf acquires fourth Denver course with Ptarmigan Country Club

Heritage Golf Group announced the acquisition of its 39th course, Ptarmigan Country Club in Denver, Colorado. It joins three other Heritage courses in the area: The Golf Club at Bear Dance, Plum Creek Golf Club and Colorado National Golf Club. Ptarmigan is a private full-service country club that features an 18-hole signature Jack Nicklaus golf course.
KemperSports partners with Morris County in New Jersey to manage four golf courses

KemperSports announced a new partnership with the Morris County Park Commission in New Jersey to manage four public golf courses: Berkshire Valley, Flanders Valley, Pinch Brook and Sunset Valley. These courses are hailed as some of the finest in the state. KemperSports now manages 16 golf courses, sports complexes and athletic venues in New York and New Jersey. Berkshire Valley sits on 600 acres in the Highlands region of Northern New Jersey.

The club becomes the 38th in Heritage’s portfolio and increases its presence in the Southeast U.S.The Club at Gettysvue features an 18-hole par-72 championship golf course designed by Bland Pittman. It measures 6,540 yards across multiple changes in elevation and is integrated into the surrounding landscape of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Concert Golf Partners makes 36th acquisition with the Georgia Club

Concert Golf Partners acquired The Georgia Club, a private club near the University of Georgia in Athens, from Pan Pacific Fairway V, the owner of the upscale community that surrounds the club property. The Georgia Club is Concert’s third club in Georgia and its 36th acquisition overall. The club features 27 total holes across 350 acres designed by Denis Griffiths.
