Golf Punk magazine was founded in 2004 by Tim Southwell and John Dean under their company, Keep Yourself Nice Ltd. They obtained funding from several Premier League footballers, including Michael Gray, Thomas Sørensen, Phil Babb, Jason McAteer, and Steven Wright. Later, they also received investment from Genesis Investments, which is part of Chris Ingram's investment portfolio.
