Discovering a favorite go-to sushi spot is often difficult, but at least it’s fun trying. After a number of failed experiences in our new-ish town here in California, my husband and I found something special and now, have been frequenting an always busy sushi restaurant that is consistently delicious. As much as I attempt to choose different menu items, I always include one favorite: Crunchy Sushi Roll.

About a year ago, I tasted for the first time, five wines from the Victoria region of Australia during an online chat with their producers and other wine writers. Without a doubt, I was impressed with not only the wines but the region as a whole. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I had the opportunity to taste more complex, world class wines (sent as samples) from this fascinating region.

In early March, I traveled virtually to Alto Adige, Italy where Matthias Messner, Managing Director, of Cantina Bozen awaited a group of wine journalists in order to introduce then taste four red wines (sent as samples). After his warm welcome, one of the first statements he made was that Alto Adige, the most northern region in Italy bordering Austria and Switzerland, is a “land of contrast” due to the mix of languages and foods reflecting both Italian and German cultures.

With the religious holiday of Passover beginning April 12 and lasting until April 20, why not pay homage to this special celebration with wines from Psagot Winery? Having received three certified kosher wines (as samples) from this award winning winery in Binyamin, Israel, I appreciated each sip as I researched its story. Found in the Jerusalem Mountain Vineyards close to the historic city of Jerusalem, Psagot Winery has been making wines for more than 21 years.
