Gun Talk

Gun Talk

Determining the exact beginning of Gun Talk is quite challenging. One could trace its origins back to the 1940s when Grits Gresham began writing about hunting and firearms. This inspired his son, Tom, to pursue photography and writing as well. Tom went on to become the editor of various outdoor magazines and later partnered with Grits as a co-host on "Shooting Sports America," a shooting program on ESPN. This experience led Tom to create and host multiple television series, including the first-ever show focused on self-defense using firearms. Launched in March 1995, Tom Gresham's Gun Talk was the first national radio talk show dedicated to guns and gun rights. It has since expanded to over 250 radio stations and boasts four million downloads each year. Notably, it was also among the first, to our knowledge, to be considered a "podcast" about firearms, as we began posting each episode online long before the iPod was introduced.
