Boots has announced its participation in the newly launched free Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) scheme, aimed at improving access to essential healthcare for women experiencing menopause. Last month, Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill finally confirmed the start date for the HRT scheme. The programme was due to roll out in January, but has faced many delays since then. The expansion of Ireland’s free IVF scheme has reportedly been delayed indefinitely. Last October, the Government said the scheme would be expanded to couples who already have children. However, a report by Extra.ie reveals that the Department of Health could not provide a date for when the scheme will be expanded. It is understood that the HSE and other stakeholders are still ironing out any kinks that may occur by expanding the scheme.

Two boys have been injured following an e-scooter accident in Co. Cavan. The accident took place at 7.15 pm on Tuesday, May 20th, at the roundabout on the approach to Ballyconnell. Emergency services and Gardaí rushed to the scene of the incident following the accident on Tuesday. Both boys were rushed to separate hospitals following the accident. It is believed they are in their teens. One boy was airlifted to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street in Dublin with serious injuries.
