I know I keep going on about my Ruti On the Loose pants, but they’re comfy, chic, and way versatile (plus they never make me feel like a waiter like a lot of black pants do). On my last trip I wore them on the plane, walking around, and out to dinner—They really can be whatever you want them to be.

We recently visited Four Objects headquarters in a fabulous old brownstone in Brooklyn, where I got to sit with its cool and talented founders to learn a little bit more about how they do their whole thing (and what makes their line of luxury essentials truly sustainable). Spoiler: They’ve been friends since college, but feel more like sisters to me.

I’ve been using Ten Over Ten polish in Eldridge, which is a super sheer just-pink-enough-to-make-your-nails-look-healthy shade (I also only do just one coat and it’s perfect). It turned out to be extremely rich and nourishing without feeling too thick.

Hi! Today’s outfit: A tissue-thin Dôen top that could pass for a vintage Edwardian piece, really comfy Veronica Beard jeans (the hem is raw so you can just cut them to your liking), an old Gap kids’ belt, and these cool Nomasei boots with a little Speed Racer vibe. That thing around my neck is this leather choker from Etsy (I throw charms on it, too).

There’s a right shade for everyone—I always love a rich lapis or faded chambray. And I think everyone looks great in French blue (aka Matisse or Yves Klein blue). It looks perfect with most things, and I love it with white, black, or a different shade of blue so you’re not completely matchy matchy. I’ve been obsessing over Jia Jia’s kyanite beads that I would wear all summer (and right into fall). These opals and turquoise beads are pretty, too, and a bit more affordable.

The pajamas-out-on-the-street trend isn’t entirely new, but I feel like it started out sort of daring and not for everyone (lest you look sad and crazy roaming around town half dressed). Now that it’s been around for a while I feel like we can all get away with wearing them around town as long as they’re strategically styled with blazers, flats, button-downs, nice tees and shoes, etc. or at the beach with flip-flops.
