Back in the early ‘90s, Anything crochet was my thing. It was my way of adding a little bohemian romance to my usual jeans and Nocona shoe-boot look (I still have a little cardigan somewhere that I scored at a scrimshaw shop in Sag Harbor—Wish I still had those Noconas). Now it seems that open-knit numbers (even bags and shoes) are popping up faster than Jiffy Pop, and I’m all over it.

Hi! In keeping with our theme of late, here I am in another one of my favorite shops, 9th Street Vintage, owned by the super chic, extremely discerning and keen-eyed Meri Civorelli. You won’t find random old clothes here—Meri is adamant about only selling things from the 1800s just up to the ‘80s (and those are mostly Levi’s). I’ve gotten so many of my favorite pieces here, including those perfect Wranglers I’m wearing, above (and that stellar Lee jacket is still up for grabs).

At Headdress, my friend Anessa’s salon, they wash your hair with Rōz Foundation Shampoo and conditioner and it’s so lathery and the smell is so delicious I got some for myself. And I feel the need to give Willow Glen Treatment Oil another shout-out because I rarely wash my hair without leaving this on overnight first. P.S. My friend Anne (my bestie since we were 14) founded cool-girl cult brand Martin that was all the rage in the late ‘90s-early aughts (anyone remember it?). Anyway, one of her signature styles was a drape-y twisted tee that you could wear on or off the shoulder that I had on maximum rotation paired with her ridiculously low-waisted jeans—I found this pair online!. I really wish I still those tops, because suddenly it’s a whole thing again, as illustrated in this chock-full-o’-tees post.

Hi! Here I am in one of my (very talented) BFF’s shops, the eponymous Edith Machinist (yes, that’s her real name), one of my all-time favorite vintage spots (big designers shop here for inspiration but I’m not allowed to name names). And I can’t even walk by without leaving with something I can’t live without (latest purchase was a perfect western belt), and I have many fond memories sitting on that couch— I used to nurse Gino there while Edie and I would shoot the breeze.
