IACP

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) stands as the largest and most significant professional organization for police leaders globally. Boasting over 33,000 members from more than 170 countries, the IACP plays a vital role in global policing, dedicated to fostering safer communities through innovative and progressive police leadership. Since its establishment in 1893, the association has been advocating for law enforcement and promoting professionalism and leadership in policing around the world. Renowned for its focus on improving community safety, the IACP actively shapes the future of the police profession. By providing timely research, specialized programs, and exceptional training opportunities, the IACP equips both current and future police leaders—and the communities they serve—to effectively tackle the most urgent issues and challenges they face today. As a not-for-profit 501c(3) organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, the IACP publishes The Police Chief magazine, which is the top publication for law enforcement executives. Additionally, it organizes the IACP Annual Conference, the largest gathering for police education and technology in the world. Membership in the IACP is available to law enforcement personnel at all levels, as well as non-sworn leaders within the criminal justice system.
