Dear readers,When I teased on Instagram that I’d be doing a piece about capri leggings, a few tomatoes were thrown my way. Blessedly, they were fresh, not rotten, and the people were kind and constructive. I get the hesitation to revisit this Y2K/80s staple! I want to address some of them today, while making a case for capri leggings as a practical and versatile PDW piece for spring (PDW = Play, Dinner, Work per Tibi parlance). In 2025, we’re divorcing capris from their Y2K outfits.

Dearest readers,Have you heard? Skinny jeans are “back,” and so are flares. It’s been a while since I’ve worn either, so last month, just for fun, I tried on a pair of high-rise skinny kick flares (phew, that’s a mouthful). Sensory memory is a powerful thing. It’s as if every cell in my body immediately recognized the sensation of pulling up a skinny jean and, within seconds, my brain was flooded with the not-so-positive thoughts I had about my body at the time.

Dear readers,Such is the rhythm of the fashion calendar that I’ve spent the last month digesting the new fall collections knowing that I’ll have to immediately pivot back to spring styling. With warm weather dressing being top of mind, it was one of the lenses through which I viewed FW25. Among the many fur-adorned models, I spotted plenty of accessory inspiration that needn’t be interpreted too literally and can be incorporated into your wardrobe *now* and into spring.

Earlier this week, and I tackled this reader question in a hopefully informative, if somewhat silly (!), Substack Live: “If I could only have one, I’d get....” Doesn’t matter if it’s high or low end so long as you’re truthful! The plethora of brands and recommendations can be overwhelming on Substack… I’m sitting here thinking that I’m sick of multiples, over-consuming and I just want to get the best version of a simple thing.
