InCollect Magazine
The story started in 1998 when John Smiroldo was trying to impress his girlfriend, who had a passion for antiques. She took him to the Newport Antiques Show in Rhode Island. At first, John was not thrilled about spending a lovely summer day looking at antiques and old paintings, but love has a way of pushing people out of their comfort zones. However, during the event, something surprising occurred. The stunning pieces captivated John, and after engaging in lively discussions with dealers about their history and craftsmanship, he found himself eager to dive deeper into the world of antiques. Disappointed by the lack of a publication that truly matched his enthusiasm for these objects, he decided to create one himself.
