Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are a professional football team located in Indianapolis. They are part of the National Football League (NFL) and belong to the American Football Conference (AFC) South division. Since 2008, the Colts have been playing their home games at Lucas Oil Stadium. Before that, they spent over 20 years (from 1984 to 2007) at the RCA Dome. Additionally, since 1987, the Colts have been the host team for the NFL Scouting Combine. Founded in 1953 in Baltimore by Carroll Rosenbloom, the Colts became a member of the NFL after acquiring the franchise rights of the Dayton Triangles-Dallas Texans. They were one of three NFL teams that merged with the American Football League (AFL) to form the AFC in 1970. During their time in Baltimore, the Colts made it to the playoffs 10 times and won three NFL Championships in 1958, 1959, and 1968. They participated in two Super Bowl games while based in Baltimore, losing to the New York Jets in Super Bowl III and winning against the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V. The team moved to Indianapolis in 1984, where they have since made 16 playoff appearances, clinched two conference championships, and secured one Super Bowl victory against the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
